At El Chismoso, we keep it straightforward: we collect very little personal information, we don't sell it, and you're in control of what you've shared with us. Here's everything, no fine print.

What information do we collect?

We only collect what you voluntarily give us:

• Name and email address — when you sign up for our newsletter or create a membership account (free or paid).
• Payment information — if you subscribe to a paid plan (Chismoso at $5/mo or Super Chismoso at $9/mo), your payment is processed directly through our payment provider. We never store credit card numbers or banking details.

We do not collect browsing data. We currently have no Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party tracking tool installed on this site.

How do we use your information?

• To send you the El Chismoso newsletter with local news, restaurant guides, events, and community content.
• To manage your membership account and give you access to the content tier you signed up for.
• To reach out if there's an important change to your account or this policy.

We do not use your information for targeted advertising and we do not share it with advertisers.

Who handles your information?

We use Loops.so as our email platform. Loops.so acts as a data processor on our behalf — they store and send emails under our instructions. You can review their privacy policy at loops.so/privacy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your name or email address with any third party for any other purpose.

Cookies and tracking

El Chismoso does not currently use third-party tracking cookies. The site may use functional session cookies (e.g., to remember your language preference). See our Cookie Policy for full details.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the information we hold about you.
• Correct any inaccurate data.
• Delete your information from our records.
• Unsubscribe at any time — every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
